Coppice Steam Fair

Another good rally, this time at the Steam and Working Truck Show at Coppice, Cossall Rd, near Ilkeston. A few less caravans on the field under the 4 C’s  flag than other years but still the rally was supported with 9 caravans. Friday was the get ready day with vehicles being unloaded with all the tombola prizes that were sourced from everywhere possible, thanks to anyone who donated. Unfortunately, Phil was taken to hospital early Saturday morning and was later admitted, with Sue at Phil’s side the team pulled together and got the show on the road, so to speak, the sun was shining, but not for long, clouds came in but didn’t stop the public coming to the show with a good many of them supporting the stall for Air Ambulance, rain did come later around 4.00pm which finished the show for that day.  Saturday evening  was good, a group and a disco provided the entertainment in the marquee, and with a few refreshments with the team and a bit of banter, made the day all worthwhile. Sunday was nice, clouds came again later but the rain kept off, another good day for the stalls as more people were about probably coming from the car boot across the road. The Charities Caravan & Camping Club (4 C’s) would like to thank everyone who supported us at the show in fundraising for the Air Ambulance, thanks also go to the organizers for having us and helping when necessary. The Club would also like to wish Phil a speedy recovery and hope you get back on the rally field soon.
