May Bank Holiday at Chatsworth with the 4 C’s Club. We arrived on Friday 28th May after what had been a very wet month. We were greeted and directed off the road by one of the Marshall’s, and once on site the other Marshall’s were there to help us get parked up and level on the uneven wet ground. Nothing is too much trouble for this group. I would like to thank them for their hard work, encouragement and enthusiasm.

The site was fantastic with amazing views, ideally situated to walk to the main house, by the river or a walk to the local pub or ice cream shop. Family joined us on the Saturday for the day. They were welcomed by everyone and took part in the blackout. They definitely want to visit again!! The evenings were spent playing bingo, and socialising. Another fantastic weekend away with the group.

Thank you to the Marshals for their friendly welcome and the organising and running of the Rally. Special thanks to ?? for acting as ‘Golden Gate Keeper’ dashing to and fro to open and close the gates for all members.12 units attended, pitched either side of a hard track which appeared to be a public footpath with some cyclists and walkers passing through. The grassy site was mostly level but some units required chocks. The ground was slightly soft in places. Through out the Rally local sheep with their lambs and the Fallow Deer paid us regular visits. The lambs were inquisitive and drank from the fire buckets as well as tapping on the side of the units. Within easy walking distance (approx 35 minutes’ walk) was Chatsworth House and Gardens. Also, within easy walking distance (approx 25 minutes) through the Cannon Kissing Gate is the village of Baslow. Here are a number of Public Houses and places to eat. Public toilets available in the village if required. The ‘Party Tent’ was used to bring everyone together in the evenings for Bingo, chatting, eating and drinking, with the urn constantly bubbling merrily for hot drinks. The weather was glorious, dry, warm and sunny but dropped cold outside after sunset, the ‘Party Tent’ however kept us all cosy. As new members we were made to feel very welcome by all and we look forward to the next Rally.
